The Sigh Story

Ever wondered what kind of expectations people have from you? Right now I am surrounded with over expecting relatives. I do need a break. Why cant I be happy to do something for myself rather than doing it for someone else. Is it what drives us to excel?

But I want to do an MBA for myself, not because XYZ thinks it would make a trifle bit of a difference to my already annihilated life. It might make me a better insomniac( B schoolers would understand this) and get me decent money.

No, right now it doesn't matter whether it changes my perspective about life and the world or the economy. Its all about the money honey!

Now, why would I say something like that? Because I firmly believe that India is one country where the car you drive, the mobile phone you carry, the clothes you wear et al talk for you. You can get anything here with moolah.

It seems strange to me at times talking like this about my country but isn't this the truth? When you have a country whose leaders consist majorly of uneducated (if I may use the word) people trying to make a difference to their own pocket thereby increasing it exponentially with no standard deviations.

When everybody out there wants to make a difference to their lives, how can I be any different. I want a car of my own, I want a house of my own just like anybody else does.

So, how would MBA help me get that? Well, one just needs to look at the list of recruiters that a B school gets and that is all.

Life is all about living upto your dreams though an MBA was hardly my dream. For a medical student, the only dream is to become a doctor or get into research. Doctors? Not for me please. Research? That was the thought with which I started my graduation. But over a period of time, I realized that research is a back breaking, no profit business. You may move to the US of A, in that case it might be slightly less back breaking. But when it comes to my country, I can safely say that you cannot get anything out of research. Hell! Finish off with a project, send it out for publication and you realize the Americans have already made a breakthrough in it 20 years back.

Is it the lack of facilities or the plain fault is in the education system. I do not have an answer to that right now. Its all about the money honey!
